Our NEW Archetypes Course
I received great self-understanding and healing as a result of my learning about archetypes and how they related to me.
Crab Omelets
Last week, Annette shared that she had a craving for crab omelets. We hadn’t made those in a while, and they sounded absolutely delicious to me as well! Neither one of us had the recipe handy, and we both tried to remember how much crabmeat our recipe required.
Feel Your Feelings
It is crucial for our wellbeing to feel our feelings. Feeling our feelings can be a tough and scary thing to do, which is why many of us don’t do it. It is tough and scary because we might not have learned how to go within and recognize what is going on inside us.
Let’s Share Some Appreciation
Our need for appreciation is closely related to our inner desire to be seen, heard, and known. To be appreciated by others is to have what we do from our hearts acknowledged. To recognize our appreciation for others is to open ourselves up to seeing how others contribute to our lives.
Befriending Ourselves
Today is Valentine’s Day – a day that some people thoroughly enjoy and also a day that brings sadness and depression to others. While there may be chocolate, cards, and special dinners, there might also be grief, disappointment, and a sense of deep loneliness.
Lessons from Ada
Along the way, Ada has taught me many important lessons as well, and one that has possibly impacted me the most is: Start with the Easy Things
Being Our Best Selves Takes Our Best Work
Personal development is all about continually doing our healing work, learning ways to better support ourselves, and challenging ourselves even when no one else is looking. In short, it’s about finding the fire in our own hearts and growing for our own benefit so each day we can show up as the best version of ourselves for that day.
Honest Apologies
We would like to encourage some intentionality and consideration when it comes to apologizing in the hopes that we can all move toward making authentic, sincere apologies. The words we use matter, and when they become complicated and confusing, it affects us all.
Stillness, Peace, and Calm
Life can be chaotic and even seem out of control. However, in our Yellow Room, we are learning that we cannot solve chaos from within the chaos. Instead, we truly can step out of the chaos and get a clearer view of our lives by being still and looking within.
Resolutions and Goals
Today, we want to share a few ideas that will give you the greatest chance for success in following through with your 2022 Resolutions and achieving your goals.
Happy Holidays!
Wishing you all the best during this holiday season! Thank you for all the connection in 2021. We are excited for 2022.
Our Book Club Continues in 2022
This week, we want to INVITE YOU to join us for our 2022 Book Club next year. As you know, we both spend a great deal of time reading and connecting through books. We will be reading five books together in 2022, and we would love you to be part of the fun!
Bullying and Harassment: My Story
I am deeply saddened that people act with hate and try to destroy other people’s lives. It is even worse when you are related to them because you feel trapped. As victims, we must understand that WE GET TO DECIDE who has the privilege of being in our lives.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Another Thanksgiving is upon us, and we hope yours is wonderful. Please be safe, enjoy your family and friends, and know we are grateful for you!
Respond When You Are Ready
If you have talked to us for any length of time, you know that when we find ourselves in challenging situations and relationships, we are big on taking time to let our charged reactions, or in Nonviolent Communication terms our Jackal Language, subside BEFORE we share our truth with others.
What Does Happiness Look Like for You Today?
The problem is, when happiness is our destination, we can very easily – and most of us DO – continually move the goalposts: We keep adding to our list of I’ll-be-happy-whens and concentrate more often on our many reasons why, “I can’t be happy because . . .”
The Difficult Things to Hear
Whether in our professional or personal lives, most of us have experienced coming to a crossroads - where we must choose between honoring our own boundaries and values or choosing against ourselves.
Are You A . . .
Whatever your profession or role in life, we know that our communication class starting tomorrow evening will benefit how you interact with the important people in your life. There is still time to join us – and we encourage you to do so either in person in our Yellow Room or via Zoom.
There Will Never Be Another Moment Like This One
Yesterday was Book Club Sunday for us - and it truly was a beautiful day! As we waited for our book club participants to arrive, we had our office door open to the lovely view outside. The trees are all changing color, the grass is still green at Sherwood Park across the street, and there were so many families, couples, and friends out enjoying the day.
